In the country there is a huge demand for engineers in the established textile industry. In the RMG sector, textile engineers are working with considerable importance in various ways of buying houses at home and abroad. Basically, a textile engineer is considered the lifeblood of any textile industry. Textile engineers work in various composite industries, including spinning and weaving garments. After completing the Diploma In Textile Engineering course at DPI or our another concern DIET polytechnic institute under Bangladesh Technical Education Board, a student gets ample opportunity to work in various fields including banking and industrial credit distribution corporations.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVE

Apparel Manufacturing is essentially a part of textile engineering, and hence its workplace is very extensive. Clothes are among the three basic needs of human being. The work of Apparel Manufacturing is to create the best clothes of all the world, keeping the clothes in different ways in a new way.

DURATION AND ASSESSMENT

The largest sector of the total income of Bangladesh is Garments industry. The budget of many developing activities of our country is managed from the income of this sector. But there are scarcity of skilled people in this sector.

Making Bangladesh stand with uprising head among the countries of the world Global Touch Institute directed by the Technical Education Board under The Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh is teaching the students in a very practical and effective way.

In Global Touch Institute Apparel Manufacturing Technology is teaching students in 8 (eight) semesters with 4 (four) years duration. In this scholarship based educational system there have free books for all the students and free learning for the meritorious students.

The Admission procedure starts after the SSC results. There is mainly one session in a year. Students have to follow the admission announcement which is given by the Bangladesh Technical Education Board Authority. Usually, the admission procedure starts after May (depending on the SSC Result).

CAREER PROSPECTS

Apparel Manufacturing technology is a part of textile engineering and it deals with the application of scientific and engineering principals to the design & control of all aspects of fibre, textile and apparel processes, products and machinery. There include natural and man-made materials, designs and cuts of the dresses, Safety & health, energy conservation and waste and pollution control.

CAREER PATH

The garments industry is one of the fastest growing industry in Bangladesh. The industry plays a vital role in the country’s economy and that is well known to all. According to BGMEA report there are 5500 export oriented garments industries listed in our country employing more than 5 million of workers and officers. And most reports say that there in fact around 3600 export oriented RMG factories employing around 4 million people

ADMISSION ELIGIBILITY

Minimum SSC equivalent from any discipline with minimum GPA: 2.00 .

HSC (Science) Students can directly join in 3rd Semester
& HSC (Vocational) students can directly join in 4th Semester.( Passing year 2011, GPA: 2.00 )

Students are encouraged to collect the Admission Form from the admission office.

  • * Photocopy of Parent’s NID Card.

Welcome to the Department of Wet Process Engineering (WPE), BGIFT Institute of Science & Technology(BIST). WPE is an emerging and highly demanding field of study. It is an interdisciplinary field comprising engineering, chemistry and environment. The faculty is committed to teaching, research and public service. A number of faculty members hold doctoral degrees in a variety of related fields. The faculty is enriched each year by new regular faculty appointees as well as return of faculty after completing higher education and research abroad. This scholarly talents adds freshness and vitality to the department of WPE. The WPE program will be recognized as the premier international program for preparing young men and women engineers for the textile industry and beyond. This recognition will be based upon the excellence of entering students, faculty, resources, educational experiences, student and faculty diversity, and impact on the industry. We earnestly emphasize on a healthy and intimate teacher- student relationship so that the true potential of each student is comprehended. The relationship of the department with the local industries is strengthened through various programs such as seminars, workshop, conferences and different events.
